Tracy's Journey
Tracy Bethea began her illustrious radio career in 1987 in the newsroom of the legendary WDIA in Memphis. As she progressed in her career, she became the female voice of Gospel on WDIA and for 10 years was lovingly known by her audience as “The Young One”.

In the late 1990’s, Tracy was offered the chance of a lifetime, to help launch a 24 hour AM gospel station that featured a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary Gospel music. She served as the Chief Operator of AM 990 The Light and one of its top radio personalities.

Tracy’s
success with the station was noted nationally and she was given the coveted Stellar Award Winner for Announcer of the Year. In 2002, she was a part of the Clear Channel launch of 95.7 Hallelujah FM in Memphis, where she serves as Assistant Program/Music Director and Midday Air Personality. In 2004, she was the recipient of the first ever Gospel Bridge Award Female Radio Personality of the Year for her contribution to radio in the Memphis market.
This radio veteran is a member of SAGMA as well as the Memphis Association of Black Journalist, and has furthered her media pursuits as producer of Olivision News and special guest Host for BAMM The TV Show and Video Praise. She is the instructor at the K.T. Whalum Jr. School of Public Speaking and has added syndication to her resume with her “Gospel Truth In Gospel News…Honey” radio segment in St. Louis, Jackson MS, Biloxi MS and Little Rock on other Hallelujah radio stations. Tracy also hosts a weekly mid-day show from 10a-3p on 1600 Hallelujah AM in St. Louis.

Tracy, who is married, and an active member of the New Olivet Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Kenneth T. Whalum Jr., strives to bring excellence to the gospel industry by the adage, “To thine own self be true.”

Rev. Jessie Jackson Hospitalized

Chicago, IL --The Reverend Jesse Jackson is being treated at a Chicago hospital after experiencing severe stomach pains.
Jackson tells The Associated Press that he is feeling much better after being at Northwestern Memorial Hospital overnight. He says that doctors have told him he has viral gastroenteritis but are conducting more tests.
Jackson says he was campaigning and doing voter registration in Georgia earlier in the week when he began to feel ill after apparently becoming dehydrated. Back in Illinois, he entered the hospital Wednesday.
The 66-year-old civil rights leader says he isn't sure when he'll be released.

Mary Mary Share "The Sound"

Atlanta, GA --The country’s first-ever National Gospel Music Heritage Month is now supported by an exclusive web site dedicated to all aspects of the September celebration of gospel music’s valuable long-standing contributions to American culture as www.gospelmusicheritage.com.
  
The web site will build toward September, adding content that will include: special web-exclusive performances, programming and videos; interviews with legendary artists who've been instrumental in keeping gospel heritage alive, current and up-and-coming artists discussing their musical influences; gospel facts, figures and historical nuggets and more.  Throughout September, visitors will also find calendars of local gospel concerts and events happening in their area as well as web banners and other materials that can be used to spread information on Gospel Music Heritage Month.
